Jared A. Olschewski, hailing from Brigham City in the mountains of northern Utah, is the 2023 honoree for National Service Territories 1-3. First joining the program as an 8-year-old Cub Scout, Jared has since been recognized with the NESA Outstanding Eagle Scout Award. As an adult volunteer, Jared has served locally as Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, Varsity Coach, and Commissioner, in addition to service as a 2013 National Jamboree Scoutmaster and as a course director for Wood Badge, NYLT, and Powder Horn. Jared has served on and chaired committees at the Area/Regional (now Territorial) and National levels, including service as the USA Manager for the Association of Top Achiever Scouts (ATAS) from 2013 until its inclusion as a BSA Alumni Affiliate Group. Notably, Jared dedicated significant time and energy to manage the American Wood Badge Alumni Facebook site for nearly a decade. Jared is an annual supporter of the philanthropic efforts of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels and is active in the Rotary Club of the Friendship Knot, whose members are Scouters who enjoy international Scouting. Jared was the 2011 National Contingent Leader for a Friendship Exchange program in Tokyo between the BSA and the Scout Association of Japan. Over the course of his professional career and now currently a Vice President for a hybrid work technology company, Jared has worked with many of the world’s largest and most recognizable companies, traveling the globe supporting their operations and interacting with their leadership teams. Blessed with three children, Jared has been married to Teresa, his high school sweetheart and Silver Beaver class of 2018, for 27 years.
